KBPhoto came to life when two lifelong friends and photographers decided to officially join forces and bring to bear the talents of both.
Gerrry, came through the conventional route trained by some of the best photographers in the Irish scene, from disciplines as broad as Fashion, Product and Social. The cut and thrust of studio based work and the thirst to conceive, create and deliver award winning images are at the core of his abilities.
A keen interest in music and history fill in the time when hes not researching yet another lighting arrangement!
Declan evolved his skills in a mix of Science, Education and Technical environments.
Working 20 years with highly regarded researchers and leaders in the fields of Earth Science, Archaeology and Innovation from the top Irish Universities, he became recognised as the top photographer for publication and research in his field.
An avid flyfisherman, no river is too long, too deep or too far.
Both developed a keen interest in modern wedding photography and portraiture quite early on. The satisfaction gained when turning out highly appreciated, quality work is something we as photographers understand so the inevitable decision to open a studio and high street base was an easy if challenging one.
We set our sights on Rathfarnham, a lovely suburban area in south dublin. This charming place retains a village atmosphere with friendly people while having all the benefits of being so close to Dublin city centre and the M50 motorway. We finally found our home when the famous J.Donnelly premises next to the equally famous Yellow House Gastro Pub became available. A business has operated here for over 70 years and we are proud to have breathed new life into her. The restoration was long and difficult but we hope we have managed to retain some of the charm and nostalgia it was rich in.
